Ross Huggard is currently teaching at Cranbourne Secondary College, but has also had teaching experience within the independent system at Trinity Grammar School in Kew and in other schools. He has had extensive experience in teaching VCE English from its inception, and has written a number of VCE English texts including Insight Exam Guide to VCE English; Insight Guide to The Longest Memory; Insight Guide to The Life of Galileo and film study, Schindler’s List. In addition, he has co-authored a range of VCE English texts, including the best selling Insight Outcomes English Year 12 2007. He is the consulting editor for Insight English for Year 12 and Insight English for Year 11. He also writes other articles for publication in various education journals, and extensively lectures VCE English students statewide and makes numerous presentations to teachers.
Ross has been a Year 12 English Assessor since 1984, and is a current Senior Assessor for VCE English. In 1988-89 he was also a member of the former Board of Studies VCE Accreditation Committee for VCE English. From 2004 to 2006, he was a member of the VCAA English Review Committees. For 3 years he also was a VCE English Verification Chairperson and he previously convened a large regional English Network. He is actively involved in the Victorian Association for the Teaching of English and is a member of VATE Council. Ross is a passionate and widely-known VCE English teacher.
