This session will focus on the Unit 3 work taken from the two Areas of Study of ‘Data Analysis’, involving the study of Univariate data, Bivariate data and Time Series (40% of the course content) and ‘Recursion and financial modelling’ (20% of the course content). The other 40% of the course linked to the Areas of Study of Matrices and Networks and Decision Mathematics will be covered in the mid-year sessions. General Mathematics has a student enrolment of approximately 32,000, second only to English, and it therefore demands an organised preparation and early introduction to relevant course material. This Summer School will provide you with the vital information needed to put you ahead of your peers and remain on top of your learning in order to attain competitive grades for you School Assessed Coursework tasks.
Please bring your current CAS calculator with you to the session.
Features of the session will include:
- an extensive coverage of all components of the Areas of Study of ‘Data Analysis’ and ‘Recursion and Financial Modelling’
- identification and use of the common CAS calculators and a discussion of the expectations regarding their use,
- a sample of Examination 1 and Examination 2 type questions that relate to the work presented in the session,
- an extensive set of summary notes, practice examples and their solutions,
- a guide to creating a useful bound reference book.
