Description
Presented by: Kevin McMenamin, BScEd, GCMME, PDMME, Head of Mathematics, Mentone Grammar School
Date: Thursday 23 January 2025
Time 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Past students’ results indicate that you need a strong understanding of the material covered in Methods 1&2 if you are to perform well at Methods 3&4. The results also show that preliminary exposure to relevant concepts and methodology are advantageous to your overall understanding of the course material. This summer school will address both of these issues. You will get a ‘glimpse’ of the topics, concepts and questions that are essential for your success. You will also gain an appreciation of the importance of the material you have already studied in Methods 1&2 and of the technology you choose to use throughout the year.
Please bring your current CAS calculator with you to the session.
Other features of the session will include:
- a quick overview of the Methods 1&2 course relevant to Methods 3&4,
- a look at some of the material you will cover in Methods Unit 3,
- a discussion of the common technologies and the expectations regarding their use,
- a sample of Examination 1 and Examination 2 type questions that can already be answered with your current Methods 1&2 knowledge,
- an extensive set of summary notes, practice examples and their solutions,
- a guide to creating a useful bound reference book.
This is a live, online lecture. Please note, due to Copyright we are unable to distribute recordings of lectures.
